Many people know that Charles Fey invented, what is considered, the original slot machine, but did you know what the pay back was set at? In 1895, when Fey introduced his Liberty Bell slot machines around the San Francisco Bay area taverns, he set them at 75% pay back. Today’s machines are generally set in the 90% range. Did you know what was the big jackpot on these early machines? a whopping 50 nickels or $2.50.
