Blackjack game evaluation
There are numerous factors to consider in evaluating any blackjack game. You want to play under the best conditions you can find and have the best possible advantage over the house. Consider the following factors before you decide to play at a specific table.
- Number of decks – one is best, eight is worst.
- Rule variations - Las Vegas Strip rules are best; house pays 6 to 5 for a blackjack is poor.
- Deck penetration - 65-70% is minimum, anything less reduces signify the effectiveness of counting.
- Number of other players – one-on-one is best, three becomes marginal, four or five is unfavorable for the basic strategy player as well as the card counter.
- Management heat – continue to observe pit management actions at all times.
