Blackjack practice drills

One tool to use when learning basic strategy is a single deck of cards. As you begin to practice, place your strategy card or sheet next to you and do the following drill. Put down one card for the dealers up card, start with the 2. Next, deal two cards for your hand. Play out the hand by hitting, standing, splitting or doubling down. If you are not sure of what action to take, review your strategy sheet. Leaving the dealers up card, deal yourself a new two card hand and continue with new hands until you finish the entire deck. Continue the drill by putting up the next dealer’s card, the 3, then deal a hand for yourself. Go on to the 4, 5 and so on until you have seen every possible dealer’s up card. Review your strategy sheet when you are not sure of the play. Do the drill until you know every correct action without having to review your strategy sheet.
