Selecting a Video Poker machine
Selecting the best machines is one of the cornerstones of winning at video poker. To start with you must review the payout chart posted on the machine. You want a machine that will give you the most for your money. Remember all machines are not the same. They might look alike and may even sit side by side; but they could have different payout charts. Start by playing only machines that return your original bet for at least a pair of Jacks or better. Next, read the first payout column on the face of the machine, and look to see what a Full House and a Flush will payout for a single coin. For example, if it pays nine for a Full house and six for a Flush, it’s a “Jacks or better 9/6” machine and has a higher payoff than a 8/5 machine that only pays eight for a Full House and Five for a Flush. It might not seem very much but it is a considerable difference and you will want to always play at the higher payout. In addition, On progressive 9/6 Jacks or Better machines, when the jackpot raises above 6,500 coins, the payback reaches a 100-percent return making this an excellent machine to play.
