Video Poker – a game of skill
On the river boats of the Mississippi River and in the saloons of the old west in the 1800’s, draw poker and five-card stud were the standard card games. By the 1900’s, Americans were playing these same games on Friday nights with friends and family. However, it took a lot of knowledge and nerve to play poker in a card room or casino. Well, that’s not true today. Since the late 1970’s a simple and entertaining computerized game, that can be play alone and without being intimidated by dealers and other players, has come to the forefront, it’s Video Poker. Found in almost every casino in the land, here is a game of skill instead of a game of chance like slot machines. Video Poker is fast and fun but requires a lot on the part of the player. To play successfully you have to think! The one thing that helps is that it is really a simple and quick game to learn. Get some good information in my book, KISS Guide to Gambling, or one of the many other Video Poker books in your local book store.
