Poker here, poker there, poker almost every where. Just how many games are there? When it comes to “poker”, over 120 different games have been identified as being some type of poker. The game as we know it today, was developed in the early 1830’s. It spread from the card rooms of New Orleans up the riverboats of the Mississippi, and Ohio, than East to New York and Washington, and west to the saloons of the far west like Dodge City and Tombstone. Today it is considered the most popular card game in the US.
