I feel strongly that money management techniques can be just as important to your game as learning the game itself. Here are a few items for you to consider. (1) Money management by itself will not make you win more hands, but it will allow you to play more hands. (2) Your bankroll determines what games you can play, what bets you can make, how high your bets can be, and the amount of time you can play. (3) Keeping records of your play will help in analyzing your performance, thereby, allowing you to do some adjusting, as necessary, during future visits. (4) You need to know and practice your game so you know automatically what your next action is when playing and how much to bet. (5) Don’t try to play the way a high roller might play; remember this, the fact that someone has a large bankroll does not automatically make them an expert player.
