Counting down in blackjack

To play blackjack at the professional or even the semi-professional level, you must be able to keep up with the fastest dealer you might encounter. To do that you need to be able to count all the way through the various size of card decks at the following speeds:

One deck – 30 seconds

Two decks – 60 seconds

Four decks – 2 minutes, 30 seconds

Six decks – 3 minutes, 30 seconds

Eight deck – 4 minutes, 30 seconds

These are all considered the minimum times to be able to count down decks with no errors. Your goal should be to beat the times listed. It’s also recommended that you do some count down drills prior to playing in a casino. By “warming-up”, doing some drills, you will be much more prepared to play the game successfully regardless of any dealers speed.
