Managing your Time

In addition to managing your bankroll, you should also learn to manage your time. Since most of the casino games have a built-in edge, the longer you play the more the house edge kicks in and the chance of losing your bankroll greatly increases. This is particularly true with games of chance like craps, roulette and slots. You can win in the short run, but over the long run the house will take it all. However, by managing your time, you can reduce the house advantage by quitting the game and moving on. I don’t mean if you’re ahead $10 after 10 minutes of play you should quit. What I’m talking about is a reasonable amount of time. Maybe 45 minutes to one hour of craps or slots is long enough. We know casinos want at least four hours of play a day from you to award some comps, but those four hours do not have to be at one sitting. You can spread it out over 3 or 4 different sessions in one day. Don’t hesitate to take frequent breaks, all of which will help rest both you’re your body and mind so that you’ll remain alert during those active playing sessions.
