What was Oregon's No. 1 tourist spot in the year 2002? A casino!!! When the Oregon Tourism Commission tallied their visitor reports it found that Spirit Mountain Casino, in Grand Ronde, welcomed 3.3 million people in 2002. During Memorial day weekend alone, the casino utilized 700 employees to handle the crowd. On Saturday, that weekend, 3,298 visitor-players passed through the buffet line. The Oregon tourist attraction that finished second was Multnomah Falls with 2.5 million visitors. In third place was Crater Lake National Park with 506,219 sightseers.
